BLOUNT ANNOUNCES AUTUMN SOUPS FOR FOODSERVICE

 

Diners Seek Robust Flavors In Hearty Recipes As The Days Get Longer

 

 

Fall River, Mass (October 20, 2010) – Blount Fine Foods, a leading manufacturer of hand-crafted artisan soups and seafood products, today announced its recommendations for must-have foodservice soups this autumn. Three soups were highlighted by Blount’s Executive Chef Jeff Wirtz as in-demand menu items favored by diners at this time of year.  They are:

 

·       Creamy Chicken & Wild Rice Soup – Wirtz recommends this soup for the nutty flavor that brings to life tender pieces of chicken, vegetables and herbs in a rich, creamy broth,

·       Baked Potato Soup – This unique favorite blends tender Yukon Gold Potatoes with light cream, butter, cheddar cheese and bacon for a thick and hearty meal, and

·       Spiced Pumpkin Bisque – A perennial autumn classic from Blount, creamy and sweet pumpkin puree is gently blended with light cream, sweet potatoes and a delicate medley of herbs and spices.

 

“We used current dining trends and chef input to identify the perfect combination of soups to celebrate what Autumn really means in America,” said Wirtz.  “I’m especially excited about our Baked Potato Soup. We've taken a delicious baked potato with all the fixin's and turned into a hearty soup!”

 

All three Autumn Soups are sold refrigerated in cases of four, 4-pound ready-to-heat bags.
