Experience/Education:
BA/BS degree in Business, Materials Management or equivalent and 5+ years of progressive procurement experience. Advanced knowledge of procurement principles, theories and processes.


Job Description:
Manage key supplier relationships, provide lowest cost of raw materials, assure each raw material meets the correct quality and specification, develop improved repeatable process within the purchasing group, drive excellence in functional execution, and deliver the latest thinking and best practices in the areas of strategic sourcing, cost modeling, supplier relationship development, and total cost of ownership.


Responsibilities include:
-  Manage and facilitate all facets of supply management activities. [other than live clams]
-  Implement sourcing strategies to support corporate and divisional objectives, providing the company competitive advantage in the areas of materials, supplies, and services.
-  Provide BFF with cost effective inventory levels using JIT. Works closely with all departments including Scheduler, R&D, and Directors of Production and Director Logistics on maintaining those levels.
-  Develop and implement sourcing strategies to include spend analysis, and market consideration, to control the company’s purchased material costs and to assure an adequate source of supply.
-  Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process
-  Managing and optimizing supplier performance, including continuous improvement, innovations, obsolescence and reduction in total cost of ownership
-  Vendor managed inventory partnerships, responsible for purchasing & inventory at multiple locations.
-  Direct the department, to ensure that it is adequately staffed and managed to achieve results. Coach subordinates to improve their performance and business effectiveness. Work with buyers to identify future sourcing opportunities. Train new buyers on Company systems, policies and procedures. Ensure best practices utilized across team.
-  Maintain a 99% or higher service level to our customers. Expedite delivery of product by communicating with buyers, vendors and transportation companies. Verify inventory status and delivery schedules. Successfully resolve problems with delivery, supply, invoicing, rejections, etc.

 

Qualifications:
Successful candidate will have strong negotiation skills and the ability to mediate situations among suppliers, employees, and others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to lead, influence and motivate others. 2-4 years materials or manufacturing experience.

 

Position requires pre-approval test and drug screening.
